What is the proper way to launch my 87 T-Type at the dragstrip?
I assume that you need to stall it up against the convertor to bring the boost up, but how much?
How much boost is normal?
I've never owned a turbo car before.

First thing, don't heat up the brake shoes doing the burn out, every car is diffrent. Practice, You'll get better as you go. The only thing I have are the big wheel cyl. & slicks,(3500 stall) When the needle goes by 15# I let it go. Stock converters are tighter and probably won't let you go that high, but you never know, good luck.
Basically....it depends. Depends on tires, track condition, how well the car is tuned. You're going to have to just try to figure out where your car likes to be at. Start at around 5psi. If it pushes through the lights, then you need to redo your brakes like Russell said. And also like he said, don't heat up the shoes, ie don't make a smoke show for everybody. If the car sticks at 5, then go up to maybe 7 or 8. And then try to narrow it down more, either up or down. It can changed from time to time due to certain things, you just have to learn what your car likes. That's good because it means you need to go to the track as often as possible.
