| | Friday, August 08, 2003 - 06:13 pm Problem 1: I'm switching my stock turbo for a t-60 and I've run into a problem!! The stock turbo middle section has two holes in it one for the small metal tube on the "top" side (what is that by the way??) and a bigger hole on the bottom side for a bigger tube that looks to go into the block (what is that also???) SO, heres one problem the t-60 has 4 holes in the center section!!!! the two extra ones look to be 3/4 of an inch to an inch in diameter and are threaded what are these??!?!? what do I need to do when I swap it? plug it? buy another tube and hook it up somewhere? what? Problem 2: on the stock turbo thre are two other places where tubes hook up and the t-6o has none they are on the compressor side, one is a small tube that hooks to the turbo on the neck of the compressor side where the air enters into the intercooler (what is that one??) the second one is a larger tube that connects to what you call I guess the inlet bell?? and runs to the passenger side valvecover (what is this one as well??) I am sorry for such a long post but i gotta fund out before I blow it up!! Thanks to all who took the time to read this and can help me!!! Evan Ward 87 GN

| | Friday, August 08, 2003 - 07:10 pm The one on top is the oil feed for the bearing in the turbo. The large one coming from the bottom is the drain line for the bearing in the turbo. I have no idea what the extra holes in the turbo are for. The small tube is the sensing line for your wastegate, I believe. Stock GNs have this connected to a "Y", the second leg of the "Y" goes to the wastegate and the other goes to the solenoid valve. The large fitting is for the breather air coming from the passenger side valve cover to enter the inlet to the turbo. Most GN owners disconnect this and purchase an aftermarket breather for the passenger and driver's valve cover and cap the fitting on the stock turbo. Maybe you should put the old turbo back on until you can do some more research and figure out the rest of it.

| | Friday, August 08, 2003 - 07:40 pm Where did you get this turbo? Sounds like it may have a water cooled center section. Can you take a pic and post to the net? Chris Murtaugh 87 GN cmurtaug@nalu.net

| | Friday, August 08, 2003 - 08:24 pm Thanks, I'll send you a pic Chris. as far as the wastegate sensing line goes wht do I do with it?(because there is no hole in the compessor housing for it) it looks similar to this one: http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/pictureguides/turboguide/TE61vsstock.html it's made by ATR if that's any help! Thanks!!
