New Wheels?
 

I am looking into getting new wheels for my GN.

17 X 8 wheels and I wanted to check on tire sizes.

Has anyone but this size wheels? I called a local shop, he thinks that a 225/50 tire would be ok?

Any information would help.

Yes, that is a size that is a pretty good comparison size for the stock 26" tall tire. However...

It really is not much wider than stock. Only a centimeter. And with the larger wheels, it will look pretty small. I would suggest something with a larger footprint. Maybe closer to 245

A chart is provided on the site to help with things like this. See http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/susp...irechart2.html See what compares to a close diameter match. Those who have made the switch can confirm that with proper backspacing, the width will not be an issue.
