Default Cleaning the intercooler?

what is the best way to clean my intercooler? i have it out of my car now.

Carb cleaner, water, gasoline, parts cleaner. Pour or spray anyone of them in, swish around and dump it out. Repeat.

Water is probably least effective.

You're probably right but one advantage of water is that you can stick the hose in there and really blast it. Maybe the water hose as a rinse?

I used 2 cans of carb cleaner...... spray in, shake it, repeat till pours out clean.....took about a can and a half before it poured clean, I taped a shop vac to one side and a rag to the other and let it run for about an hour...dried nice

I used Xylene, toluene and some other enes that evaporate fast....

I think that is unnecessary. The stuff inside is usually not quite as baked in as radiator gunk.
