Default Brake lights not working

I checked the bulbs, and the fuse and the ground. The 3rd brake light comes on but the real brake lights do not. It does not seem to be getting power on the 'yellow' wire. What could this be?
Thanks Jeff

Lightbulb Re: Brake lights not working

The third brake light is driven by the switch that rests against the pedal arm. The other lights are not.

If you don't have power on a wire, its time to have a look at the wiring diagrams and start looking for a blown fuse, cut wire, or floating ground.

Ok guys, I checked the fuses, I know the switch is working because the white wire gets power when the pedal is pressed. I jumped the wires going to the lights and they work from the harness next to the fuse panel back. Where does the white wire go. I has to go to something that controls the turn signals and the brake lights.

Fuses are good
Turn Signals work
Flashers work
Third brake light works.
Brake switch works
Parking lights work
Wires going back to the lights work, next to the fuse panel there is a harness.

Is there something in between there somewhere??

Thanks
Jeff

Jeff, The white wire goes from the brake switch up the steering column into the turnsignal head then down the column in the DK Green and Yellow wires to the tail lights as brake lights. Check the connector at the bottom of the column for the turnsignal and make sure the white wire is hot when you press down on the brake pedal. It sounds like the white wire is got a bad connection or is broken up in the column or at the turnsignal switch... Tom G.
