vacuum lines for boost solenoid
On the vacuum line that comes from the boost solenoid it tees off and one goes to the turbo and one goes to the waste gate actuator. and i know one has a orifice inside the vacuum Y so does the orifice side go to the actuator or the turbo itself?

Re: vacuum lines for boost solenoid
it shows on the dash a meter that reads 15 or 16 and it goes all the way up. And the 90 degree elbowthe vacum line goes straight to the wastegate .

Re: vacuum lines for boost solenoid
This is correct. There is a 90 coming off the solenoid and then a straight vac hose to the w/g actuator. On the solenoid, the nipple closest the firewall is open to atmosphere.

Looking at replacing some vacuum lines. In reference to the ones shown in the diagram in the link above (the same ones the OP described), I found the one that goes to the turbo itself unattached. The hose itself was old and didn't stay on very well so it probably just slipped off. My question is what specifically is the purpose of this vacuum hose and what can happen if detached? |
