I have two Regals, one with 15x8's and 4" inch back spacing and one with 15x8's and 4.5" backspacing.

The 4" inch backspace allows me to run 275/50R15 tires with 0.75" inch frame clearance. They are 11 inches wide.

The 4.5" inch backspace has limited my tire range. I can't even run a 265/50R15 with that backspace. They clear the frame, but the tolerance is so close that they would rub badly in turns or on/off ramps, especially at speed.

My suggestion would be 15x10's with 4.0" backspacing. You still might have to alter the outer lip of the wheelwell slightly, otherwise the 15x8.5 is a good choice and will handle pretty much all the same tire sizes. Also, if your ride is lowered or you do hard launches, this will affect clearance of the outer wheelwell lip even more.

Hope this helps
