Default multiple issues 87 T-Type

1987 Regal T-type ALL Stock
1. Stumble when hitting throttle at idle < in park when I hit the gas it stumbles almost like getting too much fuel or not enough... almost like a symtom of dumping a 4 barrel, nothing then rev up. Once rev'd up it will respond but still stumbles, just not as bad. < NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, thinking fuel pump but I would also think that a code would set if TPS was working as well... Ideas?
1a. Does anyone know the recommended TPS setting for idle/WOT I seem to recall .499 for WOT as .500 sets a code or higher.

2. Tach on stock instrument cluster , Has green lights and when rev'd nothing happens, just 2 or 3 green bars continuously lit up, does not increase with increased throttle.

More concerned with throttle response, havent driven the car as I just purchased it and has no brakes. Futher note, it is hard to start, acting like it wants too < something is telling me fuel. Plan on getting a gauge today for the fuel rail and also a walbro in take pump from Jack C.

For those who dont remember me < Im in MD, had a GN for 10 years and got out of the gig in 2006/7 and missed it ever since. My GN was 11.70 on slicks, 12.0's on radials, stock motor with custom chip, fuel pump, adj fuel press reg, stage III turbonetics turbo with delta gate and Dutweiller front mount.

The off idle stumbling is most often caused by mis-adjusted TPS and Air Bleed (IAC value)

The stock tach is notorious for failures. If you contact Caspers Electronics they can help.

Also list anything about the combo that is not stock.

I agree that making the minimum air / IAC adjustment may aid this. See the procedure on this website.

I'd do a complete cleaning of the the throttle body, intercooler, hoses, etc. Check that the MAF hose isn't rotted underneath (and leaking air around the MAF). Then I'd throw a fuel pressure gauge on the windshield and check fuel pressure at WOT. My guess it'll be weak and indicate you need a new pump.

Change the filter and the sock while you're replacing the pump.

Check plugs and wires for good condition (and coil pack output if you have a Casper's tester).

Then do the IAC/Min air adjustment with the TPS adjustment. Should provide a good baseline to work on anything else that crops up.

Ken, good to hear from you as well... Im planning to take the car up to the Buick Turbo Performance Center on Friday to have him take a look as I no longer own a scanmaster, scan tool etc... im unsure if this IAC check can be done with a volt/ohm meter.
